Bad Boy Holiday (Bad Boy Inc. Book 6) Page 10
She opened her heavily lidded eyes just before climax and found him staring at her.
Their gazes remained locked as she hurtled for the edge of pleasure. He rocked into her faster, and her orgasm hit. She screamed. He yelled.
She collapsed in his arms, breathing hard.
Then erupted into giggles when someone rapped on the window. She scrambled into her seat, yanking down her dress while he did his best to cover his sticky cock.
The cop wasn’t dumb. He knew what they’d been doing and gave them a friendly warning about parking on the side of the road without hazard lights then wished them a Merry Christmas.
Little did he know Blake already had the only present she needed in the man beside her.
Epilogue
Thumpity. Thump, thump, thumpity, thump. Winters fell in love. Thumpity. Thump, thump, thumpity, thump. It’s that or he’s really drunk. Winters, the Iceman, had his heart melt hard that day, and now everyone knows he will drop you dead if you try to take his Blake away.
On Christmas morning, Blake woke to find a tree in her living room. Not just any tree, a purple tree with multi-colored lights, a flashing star, and a present beneath it.
“Where did that come from?” she asked, eyeing it with her head canted to the side. “Did you steal someone’s Christmas tree?”
“It would have been a nicer looking one if I had.” Rather than being a Scrooge, he’d overpaid for the monstrosity.
“Why?” Her tone was incredulous.
It seemed obvious. “Because you didn’t have one.”
“For a good reason. Fluff will destroy it.”
Indeed, the cat eyed it with evil intent. He couldn’t wait to watch. “Doesn’t she deserve some fun, too? Besides, you needed a tree so I could have a place for your present.”
“You didn’t have to get me anything.”
“You’re right, I didn’t have to. I wanted to.” Which was a whole different ball game. Turned out he didn’t hate Christmas as much as he hated having no one to celebrate it with. “You going to open it?”
“Given the size of that gift, it better not be a ring. We’ve not been dating long enough,” she exclaimed, and yet he saw the tremble in her clasped hands.
He didn’t admit he’d glanced at a few. He eased her worry instead. “It’s not a ring.”
“Then what is it?”
“Open the box and find out.”
“In a second. Hold on. I got you something, too.” She left, only to return a few minutes later with a box tied with a bright red ribbon.
“You first,” he insisted, even as curiosity was killing him. He didn’t remember the last time someone gave him a gift for Christmas. As a kid in foster care, the best he got was a few used toys and clothes at Christmas.
She pried open the tiny box. Stared for a second then chuckled before pulling out the necklace with its holiday-themed pendant.
“I love it!” she said with a wide smile.
Only she could. He remembered seeing it and wondering who would buy such an ugly piece of jewelry. It was Joleen who’d told him that Blake had admired it, so he’d overpaid for the metal snowman, hand-crafted and inset with tiny stones dangling off a chain of gold.
“Help me put it on.” She turned around that he might latch it around her neck, always trusting him. He dragged his fingers over her nape. His lips followed, and he felt her shiver.
“Not yet,” she said, turning with a grin. “Time for your present.”
She pushed it into his lap. It didn’t weigh much but was much larger than the gift he’d given her. He tugged the ribbon and then paused to smile as Fluff attacked it. Only when the cat yanked it from his hand and ran off with it did he finally open the box. He stared inside before saying, “What the fuck am I looking at?” He held up a large black button then a carrot.
Looking mischievous, Blake winked and said, “Do you want to build a snowman?”
He did. His very first one. The best the world had ever seen, according to Blake.
He made love to Blake right after and spent the night. Two days later, they finally decided to empty his hotel room since he wasn’t using it.
On New Year’s Eve, he pulled out another small box just before midnight. Before his knee even hit the floor, she said yes.
And his heart swelled to ten times its size.
